The Gypsy's Treasure Bag

Toni Curtis

 All  levels

In this workshop, we will be working on muslin to create a beautiful gypsy girl's face.   You will learn layering of color using prisma pencils and chalks to create shadow and depth.  You will learn my techniques to correct problems you may encounter with eyes, mouth, nose, etc. and leave with a beautiful face and skills to create art work for clothing, purses, or fabric books.  The face will be surrounded with beautiful fabrics and lots of embellishments to create a focal point for your treasure bag.  So gather those beautiful fabric remnants and special charms and trinkets you have been saving and let's create a beautiful art bag.

Toni Curtis is a self taught mixed-media artist.  After 17 years of making cloth art dolls, she discovered altered art.  Her altering adventure began with books but soon expanded to other areas and also to incorporating beautiful fabrics into her work.  Many of her hand-made art bags include original hand-drawn faces.  Toni lives in Louisiana  with her husband Ricky.  www.picturetrail.com/tonij
