Felted Creatures
Tiphoni
Come join me in this 3 hour workshop and create a little creature of your very own. I will be teaching the basics of needle felting as well as character design techniques. I like to think about needle felting as a way to draw in a three dimensional form and allows you to discover your creature as you go rather than having to plan every detail.
Supply List:
For a $10 kit fee I will provide everything you need, please let me know ahead of time. Or if you would rather you can bring the following:
- Atleast 2 felting needles, one fine and one medium / coarse.
- Something to felt into: a piece of 4" deep foam (make sure you can't poke your needle all the way through and stab yourself) or a felting brush. The brushes are "fancier" but I prefer foam.
- Wool Roving: 12in piece each of black, white and a variety of colors of your choice. The softer the fibers the better they will felt.
A Little About ME
I am a visual thinker, conceptualist, problem-solver and story teller. I have a passion for experiencing and studying the visual world for its lustrous color, its incredible shapes / spacial relationships, and its ability to form our thoughts, emotions and experiences as we go through life. Currently I’ve felt a strong pull towards interactive art and have been currently working on ways I can create my illustrative work but in a 3-dimensional environment so the viewer isn’t simply reading my story but experiencing it by full immersion.
I graduated from RISD (Rhode Island School of Design) with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Illustration, June 2007. I have also been the the web-designer of Artfest, artFIBERfest the Journalfest sites.
