Tiphoni
Photoshop is amazing and a program I use practically every day! Come learn everything you need to know to create vibrant, clear, color correct images for use on your blog / website / print or personal use. This is a beginner's class, no experience neccesary!
The basic techniques we will go over are:
- Adjustments: levels / color balance
- File Types: .jpg / .gif / .png / .psd / .tif / save for web feature
- Manipulation: image & canvas size / DPI (dots per inch) / cropping / transforming
- Filters: when they are appropriate and when they are to be avoided
- Actions: creating saved automated actions / batch process multiple images
Supply List:
- Laptop* with Photoshop - I will be using version CS4 and will warn if you have an extremely old version it might make it difficult to keep up in class, but I will help in any way I can. (you can also download a free 30 day trial of the full version from Adobe.com)
- Images to manipulate (5 to 15 recommended)
*please note If you would like to take this class without a laptop and rather as a "lecture" type class you are welcome to do so.
A Little About ME
I am a visual thinker, conceptualist, problem-solver and story teller. I have a passion for experiencing and studying the visual world for its lustrous color, its incredible shapes / spacial relationships, and its ability to form our thoughts, emotions and experiences as we go through life. Currently I’ve felt a strong pull towards interactive art and have been currently working on ways I can create my illustrative work but in a 3-dimensional environment so the viewer isn’t simply reading my story but experiencing it by full immersion.
I graduated from RISD (Rhode Island School of Design) with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Illustration, June 2007. I have also been the the web-designer of Artfest, artFIBERfest the Journalfest sites.
