Join us as we share ourselves by combining words and pictures, discovering how each of us has a vital message that will inspire and ignite beauty in the world. We will recognize the bond we share through our trials and triumphs ~ using personal imagery and text to illustrate the story of our lives, share wisdom and uncover new layers of truth about the amazing people we are!
We will take our memories and photographs to the next level, adding text, texture, found image, and/or drawn embellishments to enhance the story behind the photo. Our emphasis is to play with the spontaneity of the creative impulse ~ we will let our stories tell us, rather than us telling them.
Supply List:
- A minimum of 5 photographs of any size that are soaked with a powerful memory.
- 11x14 or 11x17 paper or canvas panel (whichever you prefer), as many as you feel you will fill.
- Gel Medium or preferred adhesive(s)
- White acrylic paint or gesso.
- Calligraphy pen and ink and/or paint pens: Calligraphy pen and nib, any color and size. Paint pens in various thicknesses and colors.
- Any other mediums or accessories or images that you prefer working with – this can be (but is not limited to): acrylic, watercolor, paint pens, stencils, text, found images from books or magazines for collaging purposes.
- Brushes and tools that you prefer and are comfortable with.
- Sandpaper – 1fine and 1 hard grain
- Scissors
A Little About ME
As an empath and energy intuitive, I experience the world on a supernatural level. Making art helps me understand and process my self, the planet I live on, and the people I share it with. I combine the magic of being me with a compulsive need to capture energy through my camera lens, and a desire to elaborate through illustration and mixed media collage beyond what the human eye can see. Visionary sight, self-excavation, and a seeker's probing join traditional mediums on my surfaces. Passionate about sharing creative self-explorations with others, I believe that the unique heart and guts of each person's soul can be accessed and unleashed through making art.
