Juicy Painted Fabrics Traci Bunkers Using fiber-reactive dyes as the staple, I'll teach you easy methods for painting, dyeing and printing fabrics to get juicy, colorful results. We will work with low water immersion dyeing, discharge painting, and various printing & paitning techniques. If you bring printed fabric, you can also experiement with over-dyeing and printing. Fiber-reactive dyes are great to use because they bond with the fabric, are lightfast and washfast, and don't change the feel of the fabric. These techniques work on all natural fibers including silk, rayn and velvet. Discharge painting can also be done on synthetic fabrics. No experience necessary! Traci Bunkers is a fiber artist with her fingers in many media including photography and book arts. Her current obsession is with non-traditional and alternative photography such as pinhole, polaroid and toy cameras. She creates a quarterly artzine, Tub Legs, and has a line of rubber stamps.
