Painting with Fiber

Create fun stitched "paintings" and wearable art pins using simple embroidery stitches. We will make some fun and funky pins and stitch a 3" square embroidered piece of your own design. These small "works of art" can be framed in fabric or used to decorate your art journal, clothing or art bag. These projects are great to take along when traveling!
Bring any beads, charms, or tiny buttons you may want to embellish your creations.
Kit fee ($10.) will include several types of backing fabric to experiment with, embroidery threads, needles and a small hoop to get you started.
Mary Stanley is a fiber artist who makes, sells and teaches art in Santa Barbara, CA. She has a BA in Art (Printmaking) from UCSB and lives an art filled life with her husband and 2 sons.
