Materials:

Bookbinding awl

Several colors of embroidery floss or pearl cotton #5 (whatever you have or whatever you like best) (I like pearl cotton best).  Pick colors that contrast with your fabrics.

6 fabric squares cut to 7"x7" (using at least 2 different fabrics if not more).  Use regular quilting type of fabrics (no heavyweight fabrics).  Please note that the size of the squares has changed from what they were first stated.

Assortment of odd buttons (optional)

35 pieces of paper cut to 9"x5".  I use Fabriano Artistico 140# hot press paper.  Do not buy Arches brand as it cracks if folded.

Pair of sharp scissors

ruler and pen

1 large ziplock bag full of polyfill stuffing.
