Paste Paper Fabric
Lisa Engelbrecht

Using traditional paste paper techniques you can achieve amazing colored and patterned fabric. We’ll use a simple paste paper formula and acrylics and apply it to muslin, canvas and patterned fabrics. By scraping with combs, forks , and found tools we can create intricate patterns and lettered backgrounds.  The addition of gesso will give the artist great light and dark contrasts. We will also use stamps for texture and be introduced to color block techniques for accents.  These fabrics look amazing as book and journal covers and integrated into fiber projects. The artist will create a small sample book of these techniques for reference and we’ll trade bits of our fabric discoveries among each other to place in this book.
