Create a chic handbag
and learn a versatile, mixed media collage treatment that you can incorporate in
future projects. Make the 8” X 10” purse using the pattern provided, or vary the
size as desired. Inside pockets and magnetic snap closure add function to this
wearable collage art.
You will layer and fuse fabric scraps, ephemera, and images together with
translucent and opaque mediums using heat from an iron. The end product is a
thick and flexible base that can be used for creating book covers, framed
collage, assemblage, atc’s and everything in between. Further enhance, age and
deepen your collage base with added washes of color, or leave as is, and enjoy a
more contemporary whitewashed appearance.
