Relic Resin Journal

Saturday 10/7/06

Working with polymer clay, resin, found objects, mold making techniques, leather, wood, metal mesh, and bookbinding techniques, students will create a one-of-a-kind journal, completely unique to each individual artist.   These journals, while having the look and feel of something that might be found deep within the ruins of an ancient lost city, are still completely functional.     Click here to view details.

You will start off by making a handbound, 12-page, 8x10 simple journal out of one sheet of watercolor paper.  But the main focus will be on creating vibrant journal pages that sing with color and design.  We will cover color, line, composition, writing, collage, colored pencil, artist crayons, an assortment of pens, and other tools.  As you fill your journal up with various techniques during class, you will learn your own personal journal vocabulary and see how easy it is to make art that makes you happy.  Supply List
