Intensive Visual Journaling Workshop Retreat (formerly Summer PLAY)
If you have been wanting to take an intensive journaling workshop from teesha, this is the place to do it as she won't be teaching for the rest of the year. Both Teesha with her talented journaling husband Tracy, will guide you in first making your own journal, a 16 page (8x10) journal out of our favorite fabriano paper and then practicing the journaling techniques you learn in class in your new journal during the weekend. We will be teaching: journal writing content, crazy collage, how to get colors that work, hand lettering, page composition, copic airbrush, doodling and more. We will also discuss how to open yourself to the universal creative flow so the art and writing bubbles up from deep inside. We will focus on the playful aspect of journaling through guided exercises that will allow your creativity to come spilling out. You will leave eager to keep journaling and will realize how easy it really is to create fabulous pages that sing.
This workshop starts at 5pm on a thursday afternoon (check-in is from 3-5) we'll have dinner at 6:00 and then get back to making our journal from 7:00pm-9:00pm
friday and saturday: we'll start with breakfast at 8:00am and then get right into journaling from 9:00am-12:00 when we break for lunch. the workshop will start back up at 1:00-5:00 when we break and go have dinner in town. After dinner you are free to keep working in the work room on your own until 10pm.
It ends on a sunday with breakfast, then show-n-tell, then we pack up everything and go home.
$470 includes a private dorm room for 3 nights, dinner on thur, breakfast and lunch on friday & saturday and over 15 hours of instruction.
The date is July 9-12, 2009 and it will be held at Fort Worden State Park in Port Townsend, WA. The fort is absolutely gorgeous at this time of year and we are excited to have our workshop both indoors and out (weather permitting).
